This Widget will display the daily "Astronomy Picture of the Day."
Hovering over the image will pop up an explanation in a tooltip. Clicking on the image will redirect you directly to the site http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod.
This is a GREAT widget. I really APOD and I'm glad someone's had the time to craft a widget for it. Would it be possible to add navigation controls for it, to allow you to go back and forth between previous images? Also, have you considered doing other widgets, or using additional image sources such as the Spitzer telescope site(http://www.spitzer.caltech.edu/Media/mediaimages/data.shtml) or the Hubble Site gallery (http://hubblesite.org/gallery/)?
Anyway, great job. Keep up the good work.

The date is wrong, wrong month. The picture is not maintaining it's aspect ratio.(very important to me) I would like to disable the tool tip. I don't like the frame.
As a huge fan and supporter of Astronomy Picture of the Day, I'm being extra critical.
(PS. I only criticize the one's I think are great ideas and would like to see improved)

Very nice indeed! I have given it a permanent location on my desktop :-) It would even be cooler if it were possible to change or, even better, disable the border. Could you make that possible?

Hey good work, how would you like to build a widget that will display images marked favorite, in our flickr.com account? And put the ability to view other albums from this widget... I'm thinking of other people's albums, photo pools, random photos from the site, and last but not least from the selected most intersting photos of the day. This is at the first stages, and is an idea yet to planned out. I will propose this idea to some other widget makers (and maybe this can be a team workin…g together, or individuals competing)... if you agree to construct this or not, email me regardless.
Keep up the good work.
I really like the idea of this widget but the date at the bottom is incorrect. The day is correct but it's a month behind (16/07/05 is displaying, today is 16/08/05).
