Well I just discovered the solution I gave down below is not the real reason why BigBen is working. The [.widget] decided to work properly and the transfer of [.kon] has nothing to do with it. What did I do to make it works? Don't know. Maybe it is Elizabeth1st who came out from the innermost depths of eternity to help her greatest frenchglish fan on earth: ME! Might be that.
Anyway, BigBen is still BiiiiiiiingBoooooinging in Montréal, Québec, Canada. Magnifique!
I'd been missing this clock for a long, long time, so I finally downloaded it again about a week ago (version 1.21). It just won't chime. I've tried several things, different settings, etc. Gary, others, help? (Will add my four-star rating as soon as it's fixed! I used to love this widget!) Thanks!
Gary: On an Intel iMac with Mac OS X 10.4.9 and K 4.0.3x177 the Widget (still) crashes whenever it tries to chime or toll. The play() command causes a divide by zero exception. Perhaps you could use QuickTime Player on the Macintosh to avoid the play() command.
This is wonderful! It's just what the world needs, a little bit of history and beauty in a sea of technology. It will be on my desktop forever! Great job, and keep making similar Widgets if you have time.
