I found it, Steve (the reverse count). I wonder if there would be a way to allow a child to input the initial number without the need to go into the settings first, and do the reverse count. Would that be possible to incorporate into this?

I work with kids (I've been a school bus driver for years and substitute teach), and with a little refining, this little widget could be an excellent tool for lower-grades elementary children. I'm going to keep this widget page in my Favorites and kee…p an eye out to see if you expand this simple layout. If there could be a way to easily enter a number, choose up or down on the click count, and do it without the child having to open the preferences (have it all be right there on the front of the widget), this would be perfect for little kids.

Thanks for your positive feedback mrwebauthor. It's nice to hear that people are getting some use out of my simple creation. Also, if you have the latest version of the widget, then hidden in the preferences (on the settings tab), you have an option to count down instead of up.
For good or ill, the widget will also allow negative numbers should your son ever find himself in that situation.

Simple and easy to use. It doesn't do much, of course, but it wasn't meant to in the first place. For what it is, it's an excellent widget. I'm thinking of letting my second grade son use it in his math homework. He's up to double (and triple sometimes) digit numbers, and this would help him with his addition without giving him the answers (right off) like a real calculator, which would defeat the purpose.

Oh, you know what I just thought of? What if you could make a backwar…ds counter? Or better yet, possibly one that counts forward and backward? That would be a great tool for little kids who're trying to learn their addition AND subtraction. It's easy for them when they can count their fingers, but the poor little things only have 10.

Once again, GOOD JOB on this widget! I'll be checking your future widgets to see if you do create one that includes the suggestions I mentioned. More
