DailyBilling

by David D. Kampe

DailyBilling is a time tracker Widget for sorting and accumulating time spent on projects. After you enter your time, (by clicking on a button) it disappears and comes back later to remind you to enter your time again.

Almost everything can be configured to work the way you do.

Discovered an issue when I took the day off on friday. When I came back on Monday, my project list was blank. Apparently the steps that create today's file based on the previous file will take weekends into account (or maybe two day gaps), but not 3-day weekends or vacations.

Not a big problem though since it wasn't too hard to locate the old file, open it and copy the project names.

This widget is exactly what I have been looking for. You should see the crap that we use at work. Companies would pay for such an App.
I plan to customize it to update an Access database on a server so that my entire team may use it.
A couple minor bugs to note though
    - the app did not create the c:DailyBilling directory on first start. After I manually created it, it worked fine.
    - The 2 lines per project caused a crash.
These bugs are not show stoppers and I should be able to fix them.
    Great work!!!

I've found that if you need to access the widget after it's been hidden, you can go to the konspose layer where it is always visible.

I'd also like to express support for having the widget open it self on the hour,half-hour, and/or quarter-hour. Either that, or a 'Reset' option which changes the time basis for the hide interval. I've found that when I start the program at an odd time, it always reappears at the interval based on that start time, not when I tell the widget to hide. Having a reset option would fix that problem so the interval starts when I want it to.

Using version 2.03, the program seems to lock up if I set the # Lines/Project Name field to 2.

Also, if I Hide the window, the only way I've found to recall it manually is to use the Konfabulator taskbar icon to edit the DailyBilling configuration, after which it displays the window on-screen. It would be great if there was an easier way to recall the window once hidden.

Finally, there seems to be no way to increase the width of the project name field, and the field isn't user-friendly if your project name is too long. Sigh.
