Desktop Favourites

Use this Widget to create links to your favourite applications, folders and websites in an organised structure on you desktop.

Create Favourites to launch applications, folders and websites by dragging them onto the Widget
Create your own Headings and Subheadings to enable you to organise your favourites
Reorder the Headings, Subheadings and Favourites by clicking at the end of their bar and dragging
Minimise and maximise the Headings and Subheadings to save space on your desktop
Personalise the colour scheme

Hi Andy
I am using this widget as a front end for my media computer, with my favourite individual programs controlling the various functions eg digital free to air TV, playing DVDs, etc.( I haven't found a media front end that works well yet - they all have their drawbacks). It is truely powerful used in this fashion. What would be wonderful for the next version, would be the ability to scale this much larger - say to half the screen. This would allow a bright clear image on a TV or projector.

It only seems to happen for shortcuts to programs like MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook. All these seem to have extra tabs in their properties box.

Shortcuts to everything other than MS Office programs seem to work. Interesting....

It looks like the widget has a bit of a problem starting programs from shortcuts. Instead of using a shortcut to MS Word, use the path to the exe file.

eg. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\WINWORD.EXE

I will look into why a link to a shortcut doesnt work.
