you can add conversation plug-ins to yahoo messenger. http://help.yahoo.com/tutorials/ms9/mess/im_plugin4.html will explain it and you can find an enDICEr plug-in to roll dice and an Unyte Lyte plug-in to share desktops to share images if you want.
This widget is nice and all. does what they say it does, but don't believe the hype that the other post put out. It rolls the dice alright but you can't put in in a messenger window. which makes it useless because generic dice rollers are a dime a dozen.
Being a long time gamer and DM, I found your die roller a lot more useful than other Yahoo! Widgets, but I had the same curiosities and suggestions as Eddi M and João Tiago F. It's a great Widget, not too obtrusive, and it's aesthetically appealing. It does what I suppose it should, which is also great. Points of interest:
o1) It would be really great if we had the option to get single die readings with each result for instances mentioned (rolling 4d6, looking for 3), but also for no…sy players who want to look over the DM's shoulder while rolling... a spot check (or variable damage or worse).
o2) For those of us who play in Y!M or in PBP groups, is there a way to display the results dynamically (to either a Messenger, or to a textbox)?More
Does it display in the Chat or do you roll it out of messenger? I am looking for something that displays in the chat or IM. Kind of like a dice bot for IRC.
