So, if you're using a more secure login to your D-Link than the defaults... this won't work at all. *shrug* Guess its back to just having to open the browser into the device.
Yahoo! widgets crashed 5 minutes after installing and running this. Don't know if it was the widget program in general or this particular one or just some incompatibility with my system.
Either way, I'm not running it again. Not enough useful information to bother with trouble shooting.
It is absolutely useless. Provides no other information that I am able to get through the web interface of the device. I have plenty of resident programs running already, taking resources from the important apps.
I had expected it to provide som sort of displays and graphs for bandwidth utilization, as you can deduct from many other 3rd party softwares through SNMP, -well that is, if the box provides SNMP ....
Another very annoying thing reg. DLINK / DIR-655 is that DLink have started to remo…ve functionality from the box, without informing customers about it. Previously I was running 6 of these boxes in Bridge mode, -however now that I purchased the 7'th box it is a new hardware version, and they have REMOVED the possibility of bridging, without any notification on the package. After having waited 45 minutes to get through to DLink support (!), they told me that I could try to flash the old 1.03 firmware, but they could not guarantee anything if the box stops working after flashing ... A proper supporter would have tried it out himself for the customer ....
I wonder what would happen if car manufactures suddenly removed turbo from an engine without telling their customers about it.
Well just now when I am writing I am getting a message "Yahoo widgets has stopped working" .... I am getting rid of this software, -and DLink in general, ASAP.More
