Docx Converter
Microsoft Office 2007 introduces a new file format for Word called .docx. Unfortunately, users of previous versions of Word cannot open these files. This Widget interfaces with a free service available at http://docx-converter.com to convert your Word 2007 .docx files to standard HTML you can view.

Alex LAs of 4/19/08 the Docx Converter Widget is not working. Perhaps because the http://docx-converter.com website is down. I'm not sure what other alternatives there are

christy bI'm using this right now for a gentleman who saved a file at his office and when he came to our office and needed to print it, he had no way to get it to open on my computer. Because of this widget I was able to help him out. So even if you can change the file extension, it's helpful to have something to convert it for those who may not remember.

Jocel BWord 2007 proposed a suggestion that: the word 2007 can be saved as office 2000 - 2003. If you take a look on the "save as type" [scroll?] under the name of the file, you can choose whatever file type do you want to. If you want to save it to .doc file, click the "Word 97-2003 Document", then click save. Definitely, it will be saved a .doc file.
Still not convinced? try it.

November 15, 2007 · version 1.0 JohnYes, it's a great idea but I think that users of Office '07 should be a little more aware and save their work as a .doc file, which is very easy to do. Just my two cents.
