Displays (almost) real time lightning maps for most of western Europe. You can select between Strike points, Strike Density, and Storm tracking maps for the following countries:
Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Europe, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and United Kingdom.
Please note that the web site does not provide animations, the Widget has to build them a frame at a time at your selected refresh rate.

One little practical niggle - the menu for the 4 different types of data display tends to auto-disappear before I've managed to click on the one I want. I would prefer to have a mini-tab or icon to click to toggle the menu on/off.
One other thing I would like there to be, because I couldn't find an explanation on the Blitzortung site, is an indication somewhere of the meaning of the tiny coloured squares on the maps. I've figured tha… More

Widget updated
MarkVer 2.6 of the widget fixed the problem with alerting (the blitzordnung website had turned off the feed the widget used). My Vista Gadget port uses scrollable/scalable maps - I will backport this functionality to the widget in a future release.

USED LVIEW WHICH IS AVAILABLE FROM BLITZ'S WEBSITE AND IT CHIRPS EVERY TIME BUT CANT GET THE STEVEN HAWKINS IMPRESSIONIST TO MUTTER A WORD?
