Euro Lightning Monitor

Displays (almost) real time lightning maps for most of western Europe. You can select between Strike points, Strike Density, and Storm tracking maps for the following countries:
Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Europe, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and United Kingdom.

Please note that the web site does not provide animations, the Widget has to build them a frame at a time at your selected refresh rate.

Perfect! The only Widget I have found realy usefull!
Living on the south totaly flat plains of Sweden, thunderstorms come quickly and last year it broak modem, phone, TV and video. This year I´ve got time to disconnect in time and save my electronics thanks to Euro-lightning widget

Hint: In v2.0 use the 2000ml/3000km range option for testing out the alert options.

I haved noted your suggestions, I have version 1.2 under test that implemets all of them, and adds a few more animation options. It will be ready for release in a few days once I'm happy there are no bugs.

I love that widget because blitzortung.org is the only source that actually supplies you with (almost) real-time information.
The new animation feature is quite nice, but I would love a second selector that allows you to choose _when_ the animation will shown (always, onMouseEnter, onGainFocus, onMouseDown)
