Floresense WorldClock

by harish palaniappan

A world clock Widget which fetches city-level time (with Daylight Saving Time info). It allows users to search a city list and add them to the clock. The city and timezone list is privately maintained on floresense.com servers.

Works pretty well - but a couple of suggestions that would make it more useful to me.

Would love to input a list and then be able to display a selected number from the list - perhaps by a check box on a pull down menu. Would also be nice to be able to re-order the list.

Would like to have a couple of other options like LOCAL, GMT (or UTC). As an alternative, if we could edit the displayed name of a city, we could create times for cities that are not on the 'list'. For example - if I wanted Red Bluff, CA, I could choose San Francisco and then edit the name.

Great widget. I just have one problem with the sun picture at the corner. It shows the sun even though its already nighttime at that particular city. And could you put a picture of the moon also? Overall, great work!

I think this is a great widget, Harish, as good as the old gDesklet World Time banner on Linux GNOME. Thank you.

RickP's comment about inaccurate DST does indeed apply to Cairo, I notice, but not to other N hemisphere cities without DST. I'll have to wait for a few weeks to find out if you get Australian non-DST cities right ;-)

It would be nice to be able to move cities up and down in the list without having to remove and re-add them. I have to think what order I want them all in before I pick each one.

Not terribly useful unless it can show the time adjusted for Daylight Saving Time used in many countries. The time for Cairo is off by one hour right now, for example, while the time for Muscat is correct because they don't use DST. Hmm I just noticed the "More Info" box says it does support DST -- maybe only in North America?
