Gas prices are rising, but you dont need to feel the pain. The Gas Alert Savings (GAS) Widget from Automotive.com will help you find the lowest gas prices in your area.
Just saw notice of a texaco car wash @ $2.76 (while everyone else in high $3+) so I called them and they didnt have at that price, they didn't have a sale and have no idea how you got those prices. They say they been getting lots of calls on it too. Their price was $3.76... so who did the typo? Ive checked on other stations as well at times, and the prices are never right.... with times like these we know they change daily at times... be nicer if this was a little more reliable. Or at LEAST offer a report price update button, or something similar.
I think it is pretty good but it doesn't actually show the cheapest gas in my area as it would be Costco which is not on the list. Also when I first saw the widget advertised on automotive.com it said that the maximum mile radius could be up to 20 miles and then when I got this one installed it only had a maximum of 5 mile radius. I would have liked it to have at least a 10 mile radius to choose from as there are 3 cities all grown together here where I live and altogether there is probably a 10 mile radius or more.
I live in Derry, NH and it only shows gas prices for Salem and Manchester. I live across the street from a gas station and it doesn't even show it and it's cheaper than some of the ones in Manchester and Salem.
Every time I launch this Widget it takes me to the settings Window and no matter what zip code I enter and/or what mile radius I enter, I get the error message "Invalid Zip/Distance" and it never lets me out of the settings Window. Is anyone else seeing this problem?
