A simple Widget to find the best gas prices in your area. Go to Gasbuddy.com and search for gas stations in your area, then cut/paste the HTTP link into the preferences of this Widget.
I will look into a fix for the widget, this weekend. Anytime a widget goes down, you should contact the author of it. I wouldnt have known if I didnt go into my widget otherwise.
The problem is that Gasbuddy changed the price field from text to an image. The various price programs are trying to display the no-longer existant string and what you end up seeing is the URL of the image in place of the price. To fix this, will require mods to the code to make it display the image in place of where the price string previously displayed. This also means that the color, style, and background of the price are going to be dictated by the image produced by Gasbuddy and not by the Widget.
It's fairly obvious that, since all of the Gas Price Widgets are malfunctioning, the problem must lie with the Gasbuddy.com web site itself. Something apparently changed on their web site. I used the wed archive web site to see if I could see any obvious changes. I was able to go back to February 07, 2006 and noticed that they have since added five new tabs at the top of the page. They are: Gas Price Temperature Chart, Master Station List, About Us, Link To U and In The News. I don't know if this is where the problem lies but it may be a start.
This widget has been broken for a few days now. Same problem...it is trying to display gas prices with an image instead of text. Can anyone help fix this?
Currently this an all widgets that use gasbuddy.com seem to be broken. They now display the gas prices with an image, where previously it was text. Bummer.
