Most of our trouble with gas comes from the competition with China and India for crude which they are consuming like a fat kid at a candy factory. For decades people have been against nuclear energy which could solve a huge percent of our energy problems especially northeastern heating costs. If we continue to rely on Saudi to keep us alive in OPEC then we will be in a real energy war, not a regime change war. Many of the reasons why the middle east is angry with the US stems from the PRIOR administration ripping them off for 8 years and delivering hollow promises.

but you can't blame him for high gas prices. He didn't jack up the prices, the oil companies did. We wouldn't be paying so much if we would have had a set fuel mileage cars could have a long time ago. No one cared because gas wasn't that expensive to them so they didn't see a need. Its americas own fault that gas is so high.

Every one Knows that gas was 1.46 when Bush came in and all he has done is up it to make a profit. Rummer has it his family are oil barons . They can lower gas if they want too ,but why do so they ate getting rich on us. They know we need it and have to have it. What next a tax on air?

We have an addiction problem. The unscrupulous Speculators are getting 140 a barrel. And unfortunately you can't just boycott one supplier to knock down the price. The only ways drop the price of oil are to 1) get more oil here ( this is a temp fix, folks) and 2) Large scale investment in advanced non-fossil based power sources. We've had nearly 40 years to develope fusion power, or a hydrogen infrastucture for fuel cell vehicles. Saddly this means that the current economic problems rel…ated to the price of oil are of our own making. Look at Brazil.... no imported oil there. Lets force those turkeys in Washington to stop subsodizing a 120 billion dollar private industry and take that part of the budget to get us past our addiction. More
