Haiku Generator v.x

Like its older brother (v4), the Haiku Generator v.x displays some random Japanese poetry on your Desktop to soothe your mind. But it will also stimulate your mind with the latest Asahi.com headlines and (hopefully) useful system information. And it does so on both Mac OS and Windows.

[On Windows, you will need to have support for East-Asian languages installed! (Control Panel > Languages)]

A Mandarin version shouldn't be a big deal, but you're kinda on your own there. I don't have the time for that now, sorry. You're free to use my existing stuff though if you like.

Yeah, I like the one about Mac OS being a good system. That's one of the few my skills actually allowed me to read. Anyone else notice that the katakana long vowel is oriented for left-to-right reading instead of vertically? This bothers me to no end. Hopefully this can be fixed in an update.

Adam: Well, as most of the haikus are created randomly, as in put three pieces of a sentence together randomly, you probably wouldn't want to know the translation, believe me. ;o)
