Hash Slinging Slasher

It's a simple way to compare files. Just drag a file into the left side of this Widget, and another into the right side, and it will tell you if the files are different or not based on their MD5 hashes. It lights up yellow when it's checking the files, then it will light up green if they match or red if they don't.

October 24, 2005 · version 1.0 Thomas BrücknerGreat widget, but it could be improved a lot by adding a mechanism to hand files over to a merging tool like WinMerge. Once the widget turns red, one could click on it to show the differences (for text files). That would be very handy for programmers. To make it even more useful, one could think of an interface to versioning tools like WinCVS or TortoiseCVS...
