HexDeCoder

HexDeCoder is a simple hexadecimal, decimal, octal and binary number converter Widget.

There is also an option to choose a custom base/radix between 2 and 36 and an option to convert between Unicode characters and their UTF-16 or UTF-8 character encodings.

Steverino: OK - next version will have an option to convert between UTF-16 characters and numbers.

Steverino: It would be possible to do that using the standard javascript encoding for ASCII values 32 to 126, but I'm not sure that HexDeCoder is the right place for it. There may already be other widgets that do this. A character converter widget should probably know about the various common encodings, such as UTF-8, UTF-16, ISOxxxx, etc. I'll think about whether a very simple ASCII option would be worth having.
