ImageView

by Merlin

ImageView is a simple image viewer. An image dragged onto the Widget's window is displayed. ImageView can spawn copies of itself, so that several images can be viewed at the same time. When ImageView is restarted, it can restart the spawned Widgets, so that they can display their respective images. Each copy (spawn) of ImageView can also provide a slide-show using images from nominated folders.

jeff h: It currently can display PNGs, JPGs and GIFs (plus PDFs on the Macintosh only). When I next update the Widget, I'll add TIFs and ICOs. However, it can only display the file types that the Widget Engine supports.

Q: Has something changed in the code with respect to the location of a widget?
A: No. In general, the location a Widget takes on boot is determined by the Widget Engine, not by the Widget itself. Did this start with 2.0.5, or with K 4.0? Try resetting the anchor point settings in the geometry 2 pane, to see if that helps.

Very nice widget, using it for a long time already. Although with the current 2.0.5 version I have a very ackward problem: it does not remember the location on the screen whenever I boot my computer. So -everytime- I have to move it to the place where I want it to be.

    Ok,
This looks much better. Went ahead deleted the widget entries from the dock, took the extra step to remove the registry entry for the widget, renamed the file under the WidgetData dir, and reinstalled Imageview. I'm running 2 instances concurrently. I see they have 2 separate registry entries, Imageview and Imageview1 respectively...woot. I've shut down the dock and rebooted for good measure and it all comes up great now, separate instances, separate settings. Thank you very kindly for your attention to this matter.
