Ever though of adding transitions? And the ability to have no frame?

Nicnac: Thanks for the comments. In a slide show, you can open the folder containing an image by using the context menu.

The frame is deliberately suppressed when an image is rotated because the frame does not look good - the joins show. The plus sign you see is indeed caused by a bug which shows with rotated images on Windows only. I'll fix it in the next release.

Thanks for the widget. I recently tried One_photo which has one handy different features from this one It allows you to set double click on the image as open the folder containing the picture. What it DOESN'T have that is a deal killer for me is a slide show function.

Here's the 'bug' I found. If I set the widget to display at any angle, the frame disappears. This is okay. I don't really miss the frame feature. BUT, when at an angle, there is a plus sign floating of to the s…ide of the picture. I tried a bunch of settings changes (hiding quick tips, navigation, etc) and it goes away sometimes. Until I restart the widget. While at an angle, the plus sign is there parmenently.

yurkyurkyurk: There is not enough information in your comment to diagnose the problem. Please supply details and the version numbers of your OS and the Widget Engine. Were you trying to open a slide or the main image? Have you set up an editor in the preferences? Please switch on logging to file in the preferences and email a log file (covering the period of the error) to the address in the About Box.

I get an error when clicking on the spanner to open a file.

The error message is 'Error opening the file <file_path_to_widgetfile_path_to_image>'

Seems like it is accidentally prepending the widget file path to the image path.
