ImageView

by Merlin

ImageView is a simple image viewer. An image dragged onto the Widget's window is displayed. ImageView can spawn copies of itself, so that several images can be viewed at the same time. When ImageView is restarted, it can restart the spawned Widgets, so that they can display their respective images. Each copy (spawn) of ImageView can also provide a slide-show using images from nominated folders.

I recently re-formatted by entire computer, and re-installed imageview. I started with version 1.6.7 and then upgraded to 1.7.8.

For some reason, using EITHER version, the "enlarge" function no longer works. When I click on the magnify button, nothing happens. Any thoughts as to what setting I might need to change to get it working again?

Andy: The minimum width of 156 is deliberate, so that there is always enough width for the buttons to be shown. The minimum height of 32 is to allow space for the Quick List menu button in the WebImages widget which uses the same geometry code.

The 156/32 size is achievable. Make sure that the the Fixed Aspect Ratio checkbox is not checked.

I'm running Vista, and I have a problem where the minimum Maximum Width and Height seem to be constrained. No matter what I enter, 156 is the minimum for Width and 32 is the minimum for Height.

Furthermore, even when I have 32 set for Height, the images are still around 200 pixels tall.

Roy Davis: I don't think that you can be doing anything wrong. On the Macintosh, animated gifs do work. It could be a Windows issue. Try again with the size settings in the geometry pane all blank - it could be that animated gifs only work if displayed at their natural sizes.

    Re: Follow-up ... Feature's Request

Thanks for the feedback/help regarding my "feature's Request" - listed below. I think that I've gotten everything working correctly, but I'm still not able to play animated Gif files - I must be doing something wrong.

Again, thanks for the quick response and for sharing your work with those of us like me who lack the programming skills. ... Great job!!!!

    Roy
