inspiration
The Widget that aspires to inspire! Inspiration reads inspirational (or otherwise) quotes from a file and displays them on your desktop in a highly-configurable manner. The included set of quotes (10) are in the public domain. However, you are encouraged to add to or replace them with those quotes that move you. Could naturally be used for the display of other text.

I not qualified to advise on sharing of quotes, but I created this for my growing collection of quotes from books I read from T. Harv Eker and Robert T. Kiyosaki (highly recommended!). When I read a neat quote from a book (in this genre), I post it to my widget and will, of course, then be reminded periodically and reflect. I hope you continue to enjoy it!

I've been enjoying the Oblique Strategies widget very much and this looks like it will be just as enjoyable... not to mention the ability to add your own quotes. Do you think it would be acceptable for people to make available their quote files to share with others? Or I guess that would cross some sort of copyright laws... unless they are public domain as well.

September 30, 2005 · version 1.0.0 WayneExcellent widget... although I definitely second the "line wrap" idea. I have a collection of ~900 quotes I'd like to load, so manually entering * for all of those would be quite tiring. Maybe include an optional "max width" setting? Otherwise, excellent work, it's beautifully done!
