iPod Video Converter

Using VLC (http://videolan.org) seems to be the fastest and best way to convert video files to an iPod Video-compatible format.

The only thing this Widget does is call VLC with right parameters to convert your video file. After entering the paths to VLC and the output folder in the preferences, just drop any video file on the Widget and conversion is started. That's it!

Of course, VLC has to be installed to make the Widget work. ;-)

I'm confused how to select the output folder. Would the output folder be the folder in itunes with the rest of your videos? Or can you create a new folder and itunes will work automaticlally to find the videos converted that can be played on ipods?

Please clarify for me...

You have to wait until the first conversion is completed. After that the widget-text changes to "drop movie here..." again and you can convert the next file. Restart should not be necessary.

It does work, for the most part. The widget (for me) only converts only one movie, then the widget must be restarted before I can convert another movie. Very nice widget overall, but inconvenient when converting more then one.
