iTags

by Justin Pulsipher

The iTags Widget is a Y!WE GUI interface for adding or changing iTunes-style metadata in .mp4, .m4a, .m4p, .m4v, and .m4b files. This Widget allows you to change entire batches of files at once, allowing you to change practically every tag, even giving you the ability to add album artwork. Video MPEG files are where this little baby really shines, since currently in iTunes, you can only specify a video file as a "movie" or "tv show" on a file by file basis, not several at onc More

I really like this. No one else is supporting a GUI for AtomicParsley that works in windows right now, and I'm not near smart enough to use a command line program! Just something to look into when you have time: iTags isn't changing "movies" that I've converted myself to mp4 into TV shows when I try to do this. It looks like the tags don't change. I don't think the file is rewriting either, which I think is necessary for AtomicParsley. Thanks!

Nice idea for a widget. I have two suggestions:

Is there a way to read the existing tags into the fields so you can edit them instead of typing from scratch?

Also I have problem using it on my laptop because the list of video tags is so long that the "Save" and "Cancel" buttons are off the bottom of the screen. It would be good if you organized the tags in two columns.

    Thanks for a useful widget.

    Hi Justin,

Thank you for iTags. I just discovered it today and it's like an extra Christmas present. At the moment, this is the only Windows GUI available for AtomicParsley for tagging audio (m4a) files.

This is designed for video files, not songs, sorry. This is a limitation of AtomicParsley, the program being used in the back end to modify the tags, and I have no control over it.
