This is a simple Widget that stays hidden most of the time. When iTunes starts playing a new song, it pops up on the corner of the screen and announces the track name, artist, album, and shows a thumbnail of the album art.
I thought that too! As it turns out, its not the widget, but a corrupt installation of iTunes 7. Reinstall iTunes and I guarantee it will go away. Add this to the long (and getting longer by the minute) list of bugs for iTunes 7.0...

n find plenty of iTunes widgets that give you more control. As for color changing, maybe...
"Won't Load" error
This is not a problem with the widget, but a problem with either Windows or iTunes. This widget accesses iTunes through a Windows protocol called WMI. Sometimes, iTunes or Windows can mess up the WMI interface, making problems for this widget. Also, if you have problems with missing background images, redownload the widget, your version got corrupted somehow.

I don't use WinAmp, and so I'm not particularly motivated to create a Winamp version. I do not imagine that it would be much harder than doing the iTunes one if you want to try it yourself.More

I'm back developing widgets, and I just submitted an update to version 1.1 of this widget. Now you can specify the widget to appear in Konspose or keep it around all the time.
I have gotten a couple other popular suggestions for this widget, including the following:
Font/Color customization
Fix "won't load" error
Add iTunes features (streaming, etc)
Add iTunes controls (play, pause, etc)
Winamp Version
Let me address them:
In terms of adding play/pause controls, or adding …colors or font customization, I don't think its gonna happen for this reason: This is the ONLY simple iTunes widget out there. If I add every feature I can think of, its just as bloated as many of those other iTunes widgets. This widget is as small as I could make it, and is meant to be a companion to the iTunes interface, not a replacement of it.
