LED Banner gives you a scrolling LED Banner on your desktop. You can have your own messages, customize the LED and border colors, and resize the length and height of the banner. You can enter a text in the preferences or specify a text file or any number of RSS URLs to be used as the source of the banner text.
Characters are displayed in the form of a 5x7 matrix of LEDs, which places severe limitations on the characters which can be handled. This version of LED Banner handles the Basic Latin Character Set, the Latin-1 Supplement and the Katakana Character Set. MerlinThere is a beta of LED Banner 2.7.1 at http://tinyurl.com/4dep6b . There is a new option (Enable Turkish Mapping) to improve the mapping of lower case letter "i" (dotted) to uppercase.

Turkish Characters
MerlinThere is a beta of LED Banner 2.7 at http://tinyurl.com/4dep6b . I've added six characters from the Latin Extended-A character set which should cover the missing Turkish characters.
Please note that characters are displayed in the form of a 5x7 matrix of LEDs, which places severe limitations on the (appearance of the) characters which can be handled.
LED Banner does not use fonts - all of the character images have to be hand-crafted.
There are other banner Widgets which do use fonts.

MerlinThere is a beta of LED Banner 2.6 at http://tinyurl.com/4dep6b . This has a fix for an issue on Mac OS X 10.5.7 which prevented RSS feeds from displaying.
