To be honest you guys were already posting high-scores that were too high (for me at least). I dont even feature in the Hall of Fame any more and I wrote the widget :-(
I think the ability to improve on existing games adds an interesting twist as it allows for some sort of co-op playing too. What I am considering doing is allowing only the highest entry per seed to be stored in the Hall of Fame, that way we'll avoid having multiple entries for popular seeds (i.e. 421). I would also have to increase the amount of score entries from 500 to 1000 (for all seeds). Any thoughts???

I'm not sure how your score/game tracking system works, but you could likely get rid of any cheaters by sending down a random set from the server when the game starts and then tracking it from there, it likely wouldn't take too much more code to do, though it would only really work if the user had an internet connection.

Also, I'm wondering what sort of licence you have on the dictonary search tree in this widget, I'd love to try a spelling related widget but… I'm not interested in building a similar algorithm from scratch. I would of course add credit within the about section, but I'm aware that sometimes this is not sufficient, and I respect that. More

On the new version (to be released shortly) the players have the option to specify the starting seed. The seed is also displayed in the Hall of Fame next to every high score entry. This way if a player can improve on a game they can do so without hacking the widget code. Identical games will be rejected by the server though. I might add some sort of limitation in the future with regards to the number of games the server will hold for a specific seed. Will have to see if there is a need for that.…

With regards to the dictionary search tree: All the code can be found in dictionary.js. Its just a simple BSP, just pay close attention to treeMinRange. The tree leaf nodes do not get split more when that limit is reached to keep the tree overhead down.
Feel free to use the code any way you like. I would appreciate some mention in the about box but you dont have to. The dictionary itself is in the public domain.

Thanks again to Nick for his Lexipuzz creation. Can't wait to see the next release, and to struggle toward retaining my #1 slot on the leaderboard! Perhaps Nick could break from the traditional 'arcade game' mold of listing all the High Scores in order (right now, I think only 4 or 5 folks occupy the first 40 slots!) and instead list each player only once, sorted by his/her highest personal score? That sure would clear things up slightly ... maybe one could then click on a player&…#39;s name and see all of that player's games. After all, it's great fun watching completed games flash before your eyes!

I've seen your attempts at posting 11k scores in a log file, there is something horrible going on before the entries make it to the database. I am currently investigating, will post your highest game manually if I have to.
