You might think of adding an onscreen "Close" button too.

I was toying with the idea of custom backgrounds and tiles anyway. A grey background that would work well with colorizing is also a possibility (check out how the notepad widget works).
Adding a minimize icon is much easier so that won't be a problem.
Unfortunately what I cannot promise is a date for when these features are going to be available (snowed under at the moment).

By "colors" I meant more color options other than the yellow blocks on the greenish yellow background. For example, steel grey blocks on a black background will go nicely with my desktop.
This widget takes up a lot of space on the desktop even at its smallest size. You have to close it down after your game is over to reclaim your real estate - so starting it every time from the system tray becomes a little cumbersome. Instead, it would be nice if, while …running, it can be represented by a tiny "iconic" symbol that needs to be only tapped by the mouse to start a game. That way you can always keep it open on your desktop. Thats what I meant by "iconization". Frankly, as I am not a widget coder, I wouldn't know if it would be possible. This is just a thought. Could you please elaborate on colors and iconization? Are you talking about skinning the widget? The initial connecting to server message checks for a later version of the widget and for any announcements (that is why the upload scores option does not disable those). Next release will address that issue.
