Mail Candy

Small, discreet, and oh so sweet!

This is a simple in-box monitoring Widget that works with Mac OS X Mail. The candy shows gray when there are no unread messages. The candy changes color (and optionally pulsates) when new messages arrive.

To move the Widget, hold down the command key while dragging.

Click the Mail icon inside the Widget to bring the Mail application to the front. Move the mouse over the candy to see a tool-tip showing the number of unread messages. Use the preferences … More

I'm glad you like Mail Candy. Please note that the Junk and Drafts folders are automatically excluded from the unread messages count when using the "All folders but listed" counting method. I'll post a new version of Mail Candy soon that also excludes the Trash folder. In the meantime, to exclude your Trash you can use the name "Deleted Messages" (without the quotes) in the Listed Folders preference.

This works great. There seem to be some folders (Trash and Drafts) that are not able to be excluded from mail checks. Possibly because they are outside of the main "on my mac" folder? Otherwise this is fabulous.

Fabulous! Discrete and works great. A bit memory hungry though.
