I give it a three because it does not retain settings.

Repeat and shuffle is turned off when I restart widget and it doesn't remember the last folder I was in.

Does it have the ability to remember these things? Does it startup with last folder and last settings of shuffle and repeat?

Otherwise it is a great little player and would give 4 if I could get those basic settings that all other players have by default.

And is there any continued development on this little guy no updates since July of '06

excellent widget. everything's there: unobtrusive, shuffles, etc. etc...

very minor things:
1. keyboard shortcuts are still hijacked even with hotkeys disabled. e.g. Macromedia's Flash - Ctrl-Shift-V (paste in place) and Adobe's Photoshop - Ctrl-Shift-C (copy merged) and Ctrl-Shift-Alt-S (save for web) do not work when the player is active.

Normal 2-key shortcuts seem to work but 3 or 4 button shortcuts are hijacked.

Hiding the player and putting the player behind other windows do…n't seem to work. When it is closed, the shortcuts start working immediately.

2. ignore invalid files. currently, a pop-up opens that alerts you that the file is invalid.

This is my 1st Day using Widgets. This is what was searching for in a mp3 player. I like having the minimized control of my music. Thanks to all of you who took the time to Post and Rate, it is nice to have some level of confidence in what I am downloading is going to work as perceived.

I agree with vojavla, it's the best music player around except for that one feature--Perfection awaits with the addition of a dropdown list of playlists. :-)

As a startrek nut and a ham radio operator I have about 20 Widgets placed on a LCARS home made wall paper and i found this to be a great addition to my bridge screen GREAT WIDGET !!!!
