I went through the steps outlined by Weiguang, and when I got to contents and clicked on it, it would not open or go further and an error box appeared. I will try re-load it again.

YES : it works again !

Thanks all , specialy Finewatergems for his description of the utilisation of 7-Zip. , and Weiguang for his recommandation to use the 7-Zip program.
Curiously, it was not possible to do the same thing with TUGZIP which is another free archiving utility. I dont know why, but only 7-Zip can ‘see’ the real content of the file named ‘Mini Weather .widget’, so we can edit file 'weather.js' in the 'Contents' directory as descri…bed in this post..
Thanks also to Richard ( post 11 july 2009) for the solution.

I’m happy that the widget works again… but WHY , suddenly, the words &prod=xoap are necessary and NOT before !!! That’s a mystery ... but I can live without the response :)

Okay, the fix worked after the restart. Thank you!

When you open the 7-Zip archive, you'll see a mini weather folder. Double-click on the mini weather folder, then the Contents folder, and you'll see the weather.js file. Right-click on the weather.js file and select edit (don't use open). A new Notepad editing window will open up. Do a search and replace the text that Weiguang recommened, then close the window. It will ask if you want to save - say yes. It will then ask if you want to update it in the archive - say yes. Now mini weather should work.
