miSlimServer

by Julian Searle

This Widget interfaces with your SlimServer (see http://www.slimdevices.com/) showing the album cover, Track Name, and Artist for the currently playing track. There are three sizes, and seven color schemes to pick from. There are also simple controls that allow you to skip to the previous/next track, pause and play.

If you have more than one player you can enter the relevant PlayerID of the one you want to monitor in the preference pane.

Note that you will need to be running a SlimServer to utilize this Widget.

    Is this still in development? Slimserver has moved on to become SqueezeCenter and is up to version 7 now. The current version does install okay on the latest widget engine, although as the previous reviewer said, you get no album art.

    This is what I'm looking for...
    BUT
    All I get is 'Missing"!
    Will wait for a bug fix.

    Solution to the "Missing" problem:

    The package worked for me before the switch to the latest YWE, but then I had the same problem TIM had. I resolved this by unpacking the archive, it's just a zip, and then repacking it. When I first rezipped the same structure I had an error about the .kon file missing, so I then zipped everything in the Contents folder, without the miSlimServer/Contents path prefix, called the archive miSlimServer.widget and it worked fine. Looking at other widgets the package layout as supplied seems fine, but repackaging worked so is worth a shot.

    @TIM:
    A couple of people have had problems with the zipped version (from the gallery) where YWE isn't extracting the files correctly. Email me with your details and I'll send you a copy of the flat-file version to see if that solves your problem.
