this widget used to work great for me, but on my new laptop it turns the monitor on and off and on and off....etc

Bellow is a modified version with new icons and more flexible LCD size. I did it for myself but I share it here as it's not really my own work but the work of Gustavo Ruiz Bo. I can't make the widgets dock icon work because of my lack of skills but I hope you will like it. If you have some time, Gustavo, it would be great if you could repair it. Icon is vista style but I've used the official Vista hibernate icon and modified it with photoshop. I know this widget's function is not… the real "hibernate" feature of windows but I really like this icon to represent "Standby".
This widget is really useful for those who have their screen not so far from their bed, so there's no parasite light in the room. And after all, it's ecological, no? ;-)

I am looking for a feature that will turn off a monitor according to the clock (say Friday 6:00 p.m. until Monday 8:00 a.m.) I suspect someone is hacking into the one user in our office who refuses to put a password on the machine. I thought of putting an actual timer from the hardware store on the machine, but I believe a hacker would figure it out.

Maybe you already know of a way to do this?

This widget is better than the other (Monitor Off), in my opinion, mainly because of the hotkey activation feature. Still, I'd love to be able to change the image as you can in Monitor Off.
