For shortcuts you should try "AnimatedShortcut".

I love the concept of this widget, and it works well for me. I have a wishlist for the next update. The "controls" that pop up next to the drive when you put your mouse over it is kind of low quality and throws off the beauty of the image. In the next update you should put the options via a right click method or just give an option for the controls to be turned off completely....Also, another wish is a "single click" option for the drive, or whatever that would need to be …done to make it more touch friendly. I plan on using it on a touch screen and that feature would be nice. Overall its a nice widget.

P.S.

It would be cool if this widget concept is implemented with a option to do shortcuts as well as files and executables, and not just drives. More
