National Geographic Picture of the Day

Displays the National Geographic Picture of the Day on your desktop. A description of the image is available in a slide out text area that can be positioned on any side of the Widget. I really like this widget, but mine seems to be stuck on June 13th. Does anyone else have this problem?

Adding desktop background setting is on the to-do list :) What I have to sort out is a method of maintaining the aspect ratio, 'cause I hate it when the images get squished when you set them as the wallpaper.

Maybe it's possible to add a funktion to make the PoD to the desktop background. For this, you should take the picture with the higher resolution.

I've never seen a problem like that before with any widget. When you download the widget it will give the option of where to save the file. If you put this in your widget folder it should stay there. When the widget engine loads a widget for teh first time it makes its own copy of it in its own folder structure. Please try downloading again and make sure you can see it in your widget folder before running it.

I like the widget. However, when I turn my PC off, it doesn't reload. I don't know what version I had on previously but I just downloaded it again, so I assume I have the newest one now. So perhaps the problem has been solved. However, unlike all the other widgets I've downloaded, I can't find this one on my PC. It's not in the Widget folder. If I close it, I have to download it agin to start it back up.
