Displays the National Geographic Picture of the Day on your desktop. A description of the image is available in a slide out text area that can be positioned on any side of the Widget. Would it be possible to improve the failure handling of the widget when there is no Internet connection? Currently, it just blanks out and has the message telling the user no connection is available. A much better solution would be to continue to show the latest picture that the widget was able to succesfully download before the Internet was disconnected, while somehow signaling that there is no current connection or that the last successful update was at X:XX pm. Adding this is both trivial and complex (to do it how I want it to work on both PC and Mac). I will add this at some stage though.

I would rate it 4 stars if you add an option to automatically display the picture as the desktop wallpaper... just normal size centered. It would be perfect to start each working day.

Not that I know of! Have you tried selecting 'Refresh' from the context menu? And does double clicking the image take you to the web page?
