Great widget. It seems to work fine with my system. I did change the code so it would update every 5 minutes. I think Scott has a great idea about the selection of counties. I sure wouldn't want to add all the counties to every state. You did a great job and it is super idea for a widget. Keep up the great work. I know the guys here in Oklahoma would like a county widget if you get ambitious.

I contemplated allowing the widget to update in frequencies less then 30 minutes but I was a little leery about overwhelming the NWS site. That said, I agree with you and plan on allowing more frequent update preferences in a future release.

As far as the lockups go, does it appear to lockup during the “text to speech” execution? I have found that this feature does not appear to run in a background thread thus blocking the widget interface during execution. There …is not much I can do to my widget to fix this limitation. It would need to be addressed in the Konfabulator application.

Lastly when I get the time I do plan on adding additional preferences that allow you to isolate the alerts down to multiple counties within a state. I also plan on making the types of alerts more configurable.

Very good idea but have found several problems... One, warning and watches are only good when timely! The fastest update is 30 minutes, far too long in an warning setting. Also, the widget seems to lock up often. Being able to localize by a county or selections of counties would make this a great widget!
