Well love it but it has the same glow bug that is on my main. Which on 3 different systems when booting up to desktop they have glow even tho prefs I have No Glow selected. And have to open prefs and save for widget to actually turn off Glow.

Other peeve on my netbook is widget will not recover from hibernation. It stays froze at time of hibernation and opening prefs and save updates clock but clock is still froze and doesn't work. Have to shutdown widget and restart. Tho the system clock w…orks fine in the tray.

Are you getting time from the system?
Is it coded for checking against system time or coded for Hibernation recovery?

Just wondering as I like the widget just find it less useful for laptops and the annoying glow bug that is present on 2 different desktops and a Samsung NC10 Netbook

if you can include a basic calendar (when you press a dot near the time numbers for example) it will be great

if you can include a spoken alarm and snooze as smart wake it is... well.. that could be so so good

Neon Clock is one of the most popular and oldest widgets around. It was built before the engine even had any security protocols. It is our belief that the current "security" of the Yahoo engine doesn't provide much value at all and the entire widget can be opened and the source code viewed BY ANYONE.

It does access the internet at startup and once a day to check to see if there are any new versions available. This can be turned off by the user in the preferences. it …also reads files from the filesystem for the alarm files. So, there you go. You have the information you need:

- You need to assume any app you run on your computer has full access
- Unlike most apps, you have full access to source code if you so desire
- There are areas where the widget needs file access
- Neon clock was developed before there were any security protocols at all

I started to install, but then uninstalled, like the post from Hugh it seemed odd that it said that, full access to files? why would a clock need to access any files?

So then the question is, does the file ever access any file of any kind?

Does the file, and I mean program/application, etc only access the windows system time, nothing else?

Does the file ever seek to use an active internet connection for any reason?

What I expect is that:

it has a nice clock appearance and it shows t…he time based on what the computer time is set to, thats all, nothing else. I expect that if it DOES do anything besides tell the time? those "things" are made obvious and not kept hidden More

Only one suggestion/request. The ability to change fonts would be great!
