This is designed as a simple network management tool, and features the following:

1. Support for up to 6 named Servers - checked by a simple ping command
2. Reads temperature from the APC Environmental Unit (requires the open source Net-SNMP program from www.net-snmp.org as SNMP is used to communicate).

Hey Phil, I love the Monitor! I have to agree with Matt. The dings can be really anoying if you have no servers listed. Good work, keep it up! :)

If you do not have a server in every spot (say you only have 4 servers) it dings for each of the empty spots. May want to look at fixing because this can be rather annoying.

I like the ability of being able to watch all of the servers in one spot. Many of the other monitors only allow you do one.

Thanks nip, problem is resolved in latest version just uploaded. I've also added a simple sound alert.

Hey, Phil! This is a great Widget, but I found one flaw! If the machine's IP is 10.0.0.1 to 10.0.0.9 (which are absolutely correct internal network IP addresses) the Widget shows red light even if the machine is up and running. Reason: the result string from the ping command in these cases is 280 symbols of length and the check // if strlength > 280 ...// fails even if the machine is ok,
    Regards!

Hi Ian, to use text messages, try:

Enter your mobile number without the zero in front (so 0956 456566 becomes 956456466)
(not strictly necessary as the program will strip off a leading zero anyway)
Make sure the country code is entered as eg 44
Make sure text messages are activated on the text messages page
Set how many times a service will fail before a text message is generated (and the frequency between checks on the General page)
Make sure text messages are activated for the Server etc you are interested in.

    Hope this helps
