Network Monitor

This is designed as a simple network management tool, and features the following:
1. Support for up to 6 named Servers - checked by a simple ping command
2. Reads temperature from the APC Environmental Unit (requires the open source Net-SNMP program from www.net-snmp.org as SNMP is used to communicate).

Phillydog, it is a basic ping service from the box it is running on, it measures the length of the response to check if it is valid, and I have reduced this a little which may help.
Miro, I have now added space for 9 servers, but my intention was to create this as an exercide to see whether it could be done. The programming isn't that difficult, so extra servers can be added on.
Mark. V1.1 splits the servers into groups so the menu doesn't overrun the screen.

July 20, 2006 · version 1.0 PhillydogDoes this use ping technology and if so, does it ping from the box that your widget is running, or does it connect to an outside server and do the ping from there? I have tried pinging boxes within the firewall at my company, my box at home, and yahoo... all seem to give a red light.... :( I must be doing something wrong.
