NewsTicker

This Widget will display news headlines in a scrolling ticker, similar to those seen on buildings in Times Square, NYC.

The ticker is movable, sizable, and capable of displaying multiple news-feeds. Clicking on a headline in a feed takes you directly to the news story selected. Also included is an option to pause the ticker and pop up a brief description when the cursor hovers over a headline.

This is by far the best looking news ticker out there.

The only problem is that it takes up 22-35% of my cpu. If it be made to use less and still look good it would be the best ever!!!

Every Time I move it, there is a mem read error:

Regarding your various suggestions:

1) NewsTicker should return upon reboot to its previous position. It does for me and most other users. Not sure why it doesn't come back in the same spot where you left it on your system.

2) If you connection comes and goes, it should already simply retry without saying anything. The only time you should see a dialog is if one of the news-feed URLs is messed up. Maybe there's a problem with how the ticker handles the particular type type of … More

Marvelous widget. Some suggestions for 1.67.

1) Have NewsTicker remember it's previous position upon restart (I like my ticker on the bottom of my screen and it's annoying to manually move it everytime I reboot or restart)

2) My news feeds occasionally go away due to connectivity problems and the ticker complains about this. Have an option that tells the ticker to not complain about the feed connection and just wait until it comes back. This way no manual intervention is required if … More

The ticker is very nice and I would have used it if the CPU problem would have been solved. Next, I would like it to roll the other direction because I use Hebrew feeder. This would help also to Arabic readers.
