NPR Addict

For you NPR addicts out there, you can use this Widget to select an NPR program by date to stream via Windows Media or RealPlayer on Windows or Mac. There are several other public radio streams and archives that are added over time (e.g., CarTalk, A Prairie Home Companion, and others).
Note: this Widget does not play the streams, in simply invokes your audio player to do so.

Michael RyanVery nice and useful. Don't have Realplayer, but it automactlly used Windows Media player without a hitch after install. No complains here. Thanks.

MichaelLike they say - the widget page shows Car Talk but doesn't say that it is one of those that only play with Real Player. Then I installed the widget, played Car Talk and it worked great. The only problem I have now is that I can't get it to play a different. No matter what day I select it just replays the same one. Very annoying.

CarTalk only exposed their last episode. But, since the link broke altogether, I recently uploaded version 0.9.5 which will now recall past episodes (unless they figure it out and block this feature).
Some streams only provide a Real stream or only provide a WindowsMedia stream. I cannot help that. As I mention in the description, this is not a stream player, it simply provides an easy way to select streams for playback. It is up to the providers to make such streams available.

ClaireI have a conundrum: the NPR widget is successfully installed on my desktop, but when I select a program and press play, nothing happens. What's going on? Thanks!

ShmuelAaarrrggghhh! It's gotten to the point where only a few of the programs and streams listed in the NPR Addict widget will play. Bill, pleeeeeeze fix it!
