NPR Addict

For you NPR addicts out there, you can use this Widget to select an NPR program by date to stream via Windows Media or RealPlayer on Windows or Mac. There are several other public radio streams and archives that are added over time (e.g., CarTalk, A Prairie Home Companion, and others).
Note: this Widget does not play the streams, in simply invokes your audio player to do so.

mammothxI am so happy I found this aptly-named widget. It took a little configuring to get it to work, but now I'm addicted. So far, every stream works great.
I highly recommend installing Real Alternative, which utilizes a very light weight app called Media Player Classic to play these streams, instead of RealPlayer.

Under preferences: check "RealPlayer installed" and choose Preferred player "RealPlayer."

RainThis is a great widget, but sadly is not very useful to me because I don't use RealPlayer. I would love to use it because I rarely get to hear NPR anymore and really miss my favourite shows (the ones using RealPlayer!!)
Its cosmetic value could be improved (font, spacing, colour mods), or maybe users could personalise the widget's appearance to their liking. If I start using RealPlayer I will come back for this widget right away!
