NPR Addict

For you NPR addicts out there, you can use this Widget to select an NPR program by date to stream via Windows Media or RealPlayer on Windows or Mac. There are several other public radio streams and archives that are added over time (e.g., CarTalk, A Prairie Home Companion, and others).

Note: this Widget does not play the streams, in simply invokes your audio player to do so.

I uploaded version 0.5h on 8/4/2006. As usual, you can also download immediately from http://www.evolutedesign.com/website/widgets.html. If you occasionally get a dialog prompt that a file is busy and cannot be deleted, this, newer version will circumvent that. Sorry all, but the prompt, though annoying and confusing, is innocuous (part of the weirdness in deleting temporary files).

The next release will check for updates automatically... stay tuned!

It is very unlikely that the problem is due to the widget since the widget actually has nothing to do with playback; it simply causes the start of the player to play the stream.

With the updated version the streams are only lasting 29 seconds to a few minutes for each program. This is by far my favorite widget. Can you put up the version befor 7/31/06 and see if I still have the same issue?

With Harry's help, we fixed odd display behavior on the Mac. I uploaded version 0.5f on 7/28/2006. As usual, you can also download immediately from http://www.evolutedesign.com/website/widgets.html.
