I find this Widget and its companion one for the Independent, UK very useful. As a "Down Under" user, I wonder how easy it would be to adapt these for the Sydney Morning Herald (smh.com.au)?

The new version has finally made its way into the Widget Gallery. If Yahoo! gives you trouble saying you already have the widget and won't download the new version (not sure why this happens) just go here:

I am aware of the HTML tags issue, David, and, with version 2.5, I have addressed it and added/enhanced many other features. Unfortunately, I submitted the new version to Yahoo! three weeks ago and they still have not updated it here in their widget gallery. From reading the forums it sounds like they have quite a backlog of widgets that need approval. Until Yahoo! is able to update the gallery with the new version, please contact me to request a copy of version 2.5 via the 'Provide Feedback' link in the NY Times Reader widget's context menu. First off I like this Widget, but I'm having one single problem with it. When I display the tooltip of a story I end up seeing a bunch of HTML tags which seem to be the story's image and wrapped in a link. I basically end up getting 4.5 lines of story and then 9.5 lines of HTML Getting a larger summary would be far useful than seeing these tags. If there is a setting I'm missing thats causing this I'd love to get this taken care of, but so far I haven't seen one.
