If you are experiencing the black screen after updating to version 3.0. There are two things to try.
1. Open the widget preferences and save the preferences. This may overwrite the registry entry and resolve the problem. If not...
2. Using regedit remove references to the widget from the Registry. If you have to ask what I am talking about you probably shouldn't do it, because editing the registry can break applications.
The change in preferences for v3.0 seems to create problems for some users of the older Widget versions on Windows, probably because of the old preferences in the Windows registry. Not everyone is seeing the problem, but a few have reported it. I have heard from one person who experienced this problem that opening the Widget preferences and saving them corrected the problem for him. I have not been able to replicate the problem myself. Sorry.
