I would try walking, but I live a 20 minute, 70 MPH drive from work... and I would not live in that neighborhood on the outskirts of Detroit... and public transit here stinks too.

Nice idea... by the way even non car-drivers are directly effected by the oil price: transportation of goods, bus/airplaine/train rides, plastics, packaging, medicines, etc. etc... everybody pays more when the oir price goes up.
