Othello

The Othello Widget lets you play the game of Othello against the computer. Options are provided for difficulty level, piece flipping animation, and board size. There is full Undo and Hint capability.
To play, place pieces on empty spaces on the board so that your (black) pieces surround the opponent's white pieces on a line - horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. The opponent's pieces that are surrounded are then flipped over to match the colour of the new piece. Each play must either surround one or more of the opponent's pieces, or the player must pass without placing a new piece on the board. The game is over when the board is full or neither player can place a new piece. The player with the greatest number of pieces on the board wins. Less

November 15, 2007 · version 1.1 ghewgillThanks for your comments about the grey screen. There was a change in the Yahoo Widget Engine 4.0 that prevented the Othello widget from being able to display its pieces. I have fixed this in a version 1.1 but Yahoo has not yet posted it online. Please check back soon for verison 1.1.
