A new Reuters TV Widget that reads RSS video feeds from Reuters (8 channels), performs XSLT transformation into HTML and uses DHTML animation effects. It features a small video player (WebClipping) and uses bidrectional Widget to DHTML communication.
To run the Widget, you will need to install the WebBrowser4Widgets COM library at http://CentralTopic.com.

November 16, 2007 · version 1.0.0.0Well it is definitely a very cool widget, but for some reason I had one heck of a time installing the WebBrowser4Widgets library (on WinXP SP2). To his credit, the author was very generous with his time in helping me to resolve the problems and getting the widget to work. Like anyone else I prefer free over fee, but am seriously considering the WB4W license purchase when the trial's over.

WebBrowser4Widgets is a part of commercial business software UI platform and for that reason it cannot be offered for free. It allows to build and run the HTML Widgets from Web without using Yahoo! Widget Engine.
Using this component I would like to show that Yahoo! Widgets can offer much more than 100's CPU/Memory utilization monitors or XXX countdown counters.
Take the idea, and build something uniqe by yourself. That's all.

Nice, but in my opinion not worth the $12.95 required for the WebBrowser4Widgets COM library's registration preventing the well known and badly appreciated nag screen. Yahoo! Widget was born free and is growing up nicely just the same : let it be!
