Sorry, just checked up on this comment page... this issue is fixed in the next version which is in beta. The Bible Gateway changed the way the MSG is displayed.

There seems to consistently be a problem loading the MSG version verse for the day. Is there any way to fix this?

Actually, the Bible Gateway changed the format of their site, and 2.3.1 fixes it...
