Smarter Stickies

by William C. Barnes

Software "sticky" notes for your computer screen that are smart enough to stay out of your way until you need them. You can arrange to hide a Smarter Sticky until a specific time, the next time you start your computer, or until you go looking for it.

Dave - Sorry, but there is no way to hot-key in a date (other than cut and paste) and only a single size of one font is allowed per sticky note.

Mick - Thanks. I'll expand the help file next release. In the meantime, here are some examples:

    18:00:00
    18:00
    18
    6:00 PM
    6pm
    pM6 (strange looking but allowed)
(all the above refer to the same time)

dates must be specified as month/day/year or month/day
    5/1/2007 0:01:00
    5/1/7 12:01 AM
    0:01 5/ More

This is the best sticky out there for sure. Everything seems to work great and intutively with one exception. For the life of me, I cannot set a date and time on a sticky note and I have tried as many combinations as I can think of but, to no avail. Maybe it's just me but I read the help file and it wasn't much help. Some examples would have been nice. Even with the alarm problem that I am having (and it may just be me), this is still the best by far.

    thanks

What about using a different font size in the sticky window? Is it possible to alter this?

Is there anyway to hot key in the date when creating a sticky? Like alt-D or something, since ctl-D is taken.

    CC - You're welcome!

Jim - Thanks for the suggestion - I've put it on my list.

moviewiseman - Did you notice that you could hide the pad (icon) entirely and just use hotkeys? The only functionality you lose is the ability to create a new sticky by dropping a text selection on the pad.
